At Auto Expo 2025, Skoda took a significant step towards electrification in India by revealing the Elroq, an all-electric SUV previously launched in global markets. The company has yet to announce a specific launch date for the Indian market, indicating this move as an initial step to measure the interest of Indian consumers in Skoda's electric vehicle lineup. The Elroq could follow the Enyaq as a key part of Skoda's electric vehicle offerings in India.
The Elroq from Skoda comes equipped with three battery options: 52 kWh, 59 kWh, and 77 kWh, offering a range of up to 579 kilometers on a single charge. The SUV features a rear-wheel-drive setup across all variants, with the most powerful model delivering up to 286 PS of power and 545 Nm of torque, showcasing a perfect blend of efficiency and performance.

Modern Interior and Advanced Technologies
With an interior that mirrors the high standards of Skoda's flagship models like the Superb, Octavia, and Kodiaq, the Elroq introduces a modern, layered dashboard design. It enhances passenger experience with features such as a 13-inch floating touchscreen, multi-colour ambient lighting, and automatic climate control. The SUV prioritizes safety with multiple airbags and advanced driver assistance systems, ensuring a secure and comfortable journey.

The Elroq's design features a sleek, black butterfly grille and four-piece LED daytime running lights that give the vehicle a distinguished look. Its side profile resembles the Skoda Kodiaq, and it can be outfitted with up to 21-inch alloy wheels, emphasizing its bold stance. The rear design continues with C-shaped LED taillights with dynamic animation and silver skid plates, adding a touch of elegance and ruggedness.
Skoda's presentation of the Elroq at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo underscores the brand's commitment to leading the charge towards electric mobility in India. With a starting price of Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom), the Elroq is set to compete with other electric SUVs like the Hyundai Ioniq 5.

The introduction of the Elroq at a key automotive event marks a pivotal moment for Skoda and the Indian car market. It showcases Skoda's endeavor to explore the viability of electric vehicles among Indian consumers. With its combination of cutting-edge features, dynamic performance, and striking design, the Elroq has the potential to usher in a new era of electric mobility in India.
