Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Unveiled At Auto Expo 2025 - The New King Of EVs?
Maruti Suzuki has unveiled the e Vitara electric SUV at Auto Expo 2025. The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is the firm's first-ever EV and is the production version of the EVX concept revealed at the previous edition of Auto Expo.
Distinguished by its innovative design and cutting-edge features, the e Vitara is engineered on the Heartect-e platform and is available with either a 49kWh or a 61kWh battery pack with the latter offering a maximum range of over 500km on a single charge. The e Vitara is capable of delivering 142bhp (49kWh) and 172bhp (61kWh) and a peak torque of 192Nm.

The e Vitara's design is characterized by its modern and stylish aesthetics, which include triangular LED headlights and taillights, fog lights, and extensive body cladding. The SUV's appeal is further enhanced by its blacked-out roof, 18-inch wheels, and rear door handles mounted on the C-pillar.
The interior of the e Vitara is designed to optimize the comfort and convenience of both the driver and passengers. Maruti Suzuki has equipped its first vehicle with an Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite, introducing Level 2 functionalities to its lineup.
The SUV includes several features aimed at enhancing the driving experience, such as a multifunction steering wheel, a 360-degree camera, and ventilated front seats. Additionally, the e Vitara offers an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, a wireless mobile charger, and automatic climate control. For entertainment and convenience, it is fitted with a Harman Kardon sound system, ambient lighting, and a comprehensive infotainment system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Maruti Suzuki has placed a strong emphasis on safety in the development of the e Vitara. It features seven airbags to protect all occupants, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and disc brakes on both front and rear wheels. This comprehensive safety package, combined with the vehicle's performance attributes, renders the e Vitara a suitable choice for both families and individual users who prioritize safety alongside performance.
The introduction of the e Vitara is a pivotal moment for Maruti Suzuki, marking its expansion into the electric vehicle sector. This step is complemented by the announcement of a Toyota derivative, under the Urban Cruiser moniker, as part of the two firm's continiuing partnership.
