Auto Expo 2025: Kia To Showcase Upcoming Syros SUV Along With EV6 Facelift & EV9 SUV
Kia is set to make a significant impact at the Auto Expo 2025 with its exciting lineup. The event will feature the debut of two new models: the Syros compact SUV and the EV6 facelift. These models will be showcased alongside Kia's existing vehicles, including the EV9 electric SUV and Carnival MPV, offering attendees a comprehensive look at Kia's latest innovations.
Syros
The Syros is Kia's second venture into the compact SUV market, following the Sonet. This model emphasises rear seat comfort with a longer wheelbase and tallboy design. Unique features include sliding and reclining rear seats and a ventilated seat squab. Under the hood, it offers a choice between a 120hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine or a 116hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine. An electric variant is expected in about a year.
EV6 Facelift
Kia's EV6 facelift, revealed globally last May, will also be on display. It features an updated front with angular lighting elements and redesigned bumper and grill. Inside, tech upgrades include a digital rear-view mirror, enhanced head-up display, AI-based navigation, and a new steering wheel. The facelift introduces an 84kWh battery with an increased range of 494km (Korean test cycle).
The EV6 facelift boasts improved mechanicals with its larger battery replacing the previous 77.4 kWh pack. The RWD version has a single motor producing 229hp and 350Nm torque, while dual-motor variants offer 325hp and 605Nm torque. Frequency-selective dampers enhance ride comfort. Kia plans to launch this model later in 2025.
EV9 SUV
The flagship EV9 SUV will also be present at the expo after its October launch at Rs 1.30 crore ex-showroom price. As Kia's global flagship, it arrives in India as a CBU import with an imposing presence over five meters long. Inside, it features a six-seater layout with captain's chairs for the second row.
The India-spec EV9 comes equipped with a powerful 99.8kWh battery pack powering dual electric motors that generate a total of 384hp. It boasts an ARAI-certified range of 561km, making it an impressive addition to Kia's lineup.
