Hyundai Ioniq 9 Showcases At Bharat Mobility Global Expo

Hyundai's Ioniq 9 was unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, showcasing its innovative electric SUV features and design.

Showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, Hyundai's Ioniq 9 is the flgaship EV from the South Korean carmaker's electric Ioniq stable. The showcasing of the Hyundai Ioniq 9 in India at Auto Expo 2025, comes just months after its global debut at the 2024 Los Angeles Auto Show in November.

As a full-sized, electric SUV that offers three rows of seating, the Ioniq 9 aims to redefine the essence of eco-friendly luxury. Its introduction onto the roads of South Korea and the United States is anticipated within the first half of the year, with subsequent availability planned for Europe and other international markets.

The Ioniq 9 is built on the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) that it shares with Hyundai's Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, as well as Kia's EV models like the EV9. This SUV's dimensions, measuring 5,060 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and 1,790 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm, ensure a spacious and comfortable interior, surpassing its Kia counterpart, the EV9, in size.

At the heart of the Ioniq 9 lies a substantial 110.3 kWh (net) battery pack, supporting various drivetrain configurations to cater to diverse driving preferences. Options include a Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) Long Range version that delivers 215 bhp and 350 Nm of torque with a single motor, an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) Long Range model with dual motors producing a combined 308 bhp.

The Performance AWD variant features two motors each generating 215 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. The flagship variant boasts a remarkable 620 km range on a single charge, according to WLTP standards, which is an impressive for an electric vehicle of the size of the Ioniq 9.

The Ioniq 9's exterior boasts Hyundai's signature parametric pixel LED headlights and taillights, complemented by a meticulously crafted lower fascia. The interior of the Ioniq 9 amplifies passenger comfort with options for six- or seven-seat configurations, alongside up to 1,899 mm of headroom and 2,050 mm of legroom across the second and third rows.

Luxurious elements like massage functions for the front seats and swivelling second-row seats that face the third row when stationary enrich the passenger experience. Hyundai's signature Ioniq design elements are evident throughout the cabin, including a four-spoke steering wheel and a panoramic curved display that merges two 12-inch screens one that acts as the digital instrument cluster while the other a touchscreen controls the infotainment system and comes connected to an eight-speaker sound system, enhanced by Hyundai's e-Active Sound Design (e-ASD) for a unique auditory experience.

The commitment to safety is evident with 10 airbags, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), seatbelt pre-tensioners, and more, ensuring the well-being of all occupants.

With its advanced features, spacious interior, and a price tag of around Rs 1 crore ex-showroom, the Ioniq 9 is poised to make a significant impact on the electric luxury SUV market here in India.
