Hyundai Creta Flex Fuel Showcased At Auto Expo 2025 - THis SUV Runs On Pure Alcohol
At Auto Expo 2025, Hyundai has showcased a variant of the Creta capable of running purely on E100 ethanol. Built for the South American market, this particular model, the Creta 1.0 Turbo petrol, shares its engine with the Hyundai Venue and i20, yet distinguishes itself by its ability to operate on pure ethanol.
The Creta 1.0T is equipped with a 1.0-litre GDI turbo petrol engine which delivers 120hp and 172Nm of peak torque and is paired with a six-speed torque converter automatic, ensuring smooth performance. The engine has been modified to allow it to utilize E100 (pure ethanol) demonstrating Hyundai's flex-fuel technology.

Although Hyundai has not disclosed any intentions of launching the Creta Flex Fuel in India, the showcasing of this model at the Auto Expo was a strategic move to demonstrate the brand's capability in integrating flex-fuel technology into its vehicles.
Currently, the Indian market has access to the Creta in multiple powertrain options, including two petrol variants, a diesel model, and the newly introduced Creta Electric. This broad range of options underscores Hyundai's commitment to catering to diverse consumer preferences and its readiness to embrace alternative fuel technologies.

Hyundai's experimentation with ethanol-compatible vehicles like the Creta Flex Fuel not only highlights the company's innovative edge but also aligns with global trends towards more sustainable and eco-friendly automotive solutions. As the industry moves forward, such initiatives are indicative of manufacturers' efforts to reduce carbon footprints and address environmental concerns, setting a new benchmark for future developments in the automotive sector.
Hyundai's presentation of the ethanol-compatible Creta 1.0 Turbo at the Auto Expo serves as a testament to the brand's forward-thinking approach and its readiness to adapt to evolving fuel technologies.
