The Creta EV's battery pack can fast charge from 10-80% using a DC charger in just 58 minutes while a full charge with the onboard 11kW AC charger takes four hours. Hyundai has provided power sockets to facilitate the same on both the inside and exterior of the Creta EV.
Hyundai Creta EV - Design & Features
The Hyundai Creta EV looks nearly identical to its ICE sibling except for a few minor design tweaks that tell the world about the SUV's electric powertrain. These changes include the blanked-off front grille with the charging port hiding behind the Hyundai logo, along with the pixelated graphic lower grille that also hosts new active aero flaps that open up and help cool the battery pack.
The Creta EV also rides on redesigned 17-inch aerodynamic alloy wheels with low rolling resistance tyres. At the rear, the Creta EV looks identical to its ICE sibling and borrows the bumper from the N Line variant of the SUV that features another iteration of the pixelated graphics grille.
The exterior of the Hyundai Creta is offered in 5 gloss paint schemes - Abyss Black, Atlas White, Fiery Red, Starry Night and Ocean Blue - along with three matte options - Ocean Blue Matte, Titan Grey Matte and Robust Emerald Matte. The Hyundai Creta Electric also features two dual-tone colour options - Atlas White and Ocean Blue both of which get black roofs and pillars.
The interior of the Hyundai Creta Electric is a familiar space with the same dual-display setup as the ICE variant on the dashboard for the infotainment and instrumentation. The Creta EV features a brand new two-spoke steering wheel, and the gear selector now has a stalk on the steering column.
The touchscreen infotainment system features wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity and is paired with a Bose 8-speaker sound system. The infotainment allows access to Hyundai's Bluelink connected-car system, and it can be controlled using voice commands.
Other highlights of the Hyundai Creta include dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated seats, cooling for the glove box and the storage area under the front armrest. The Creta EV also features a smartphone-enabled digital key, 360-degree camera, air purifier, wireless phone charger and a panoramic sunroof.
In terms of safety, the Hyundai Creta EV comes packed with the following features as standard:
