BYD Sealion 6 Showcased At Auto Expo 2025 - Hybrid SUV With 1,092km Range
At the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, BYD took the opportunity to reveal the Sealion 6 plug-in-hybrid SUV in India, While the company has not yet confirmed the launch of the Sealion 6 at Auto Expo 2025, this move indicates BYD's interest in expanding its hybrid offerings in the country.
The Sealion 6 sports a design similar to the BYD Seal, featuring C-shaped LED headlights and a unique bumper adorned with horizontal slats and chrome accents. The vehicle's design is further accentuated by 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, chrome window surrounds, and silver roof rails, enhancing its elegant profile.

The rear of the Sealion 6 carries over the curvy design language, with connected LED tail lights and a sleek black trim below the tailgate. The incorporation of a silver skid plate on both the front and rear bumpers adds to the SUV's rugged yet refined appearance.
Inside the cabin, the Sealion 6 boasts an array of premium features, including a 12.3-inch digital driver's display and a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The interior also features a gloss black panel, similar to the BYD Sealion 7, with distinctive lighting elements that extend to the doors, enhancing the cabin's ambiance.

The Sealion 6 comes equipped with a multitude of comfort and convenience features such as ventilated and heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and dual wireless phone chargers. Leatherette upholstery and a dual-tone theme further elevate the interior's luxury feel.
The BYD Sealion 6 sport an impressive array of safety features including 7 airbags, a 360-degree camera, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) such as collision mitigation assist and adaptive cruise control.
The Sealion 6 is available in two plug-in-hybrid variants internationally, featuring a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that are aided by an electric vehicle, delivering 217.5 PS and 323.5 PS respectively. These variants offer a choice between front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD), catering to different driving preferences and needs.
BYD has yet to confirm the Sealion 6's launch in India. If released, it is poised to be a groundbreaking addition to India's growing plug-in hybrid vehicle market, potentially setting a new benchmark for hybrid technology in the country.
