The #007 Valkyrie, driven by Tom Gamble and Harry Tincknell, finished 13th at Spa, while Alex Riberas and Marco Sørensen's #009 car secured 14th place. Both cars ran smoothly throughout the six-hour race despite safety car interruptions. Tincknell noted their progress, stating they were close to scoring points but needed an energy stop near the end.

In America, Ross Gunn and Roman De Angelis piloted the Valkyrie to another points finish at Laguna Seca. Despite a puncture during the race, they managed to bring the car home in tenth place. Gunn expressed satisfaction with their progress and looked forward to building on this experience for future races.

The Valkyrie is Aston Martin's first 'Le Mans Hypercar' (LMH), derived from a road-legal hypercar. It features a carbon fibre chassis and a modified 6.5-litre V12 engine that produces over 1000bhp but adheres to a strict power limit of 680bhp as per Hypercar regulations.

Aston Martin's Head of Endurance Adam Carter praised the team's efforts, highlighting their ability to compete on challenging circuits like Spa. He emphasised that their performance development is on an upward trajectory as they prepare for Le Mans.

Future Prospects

The Valkyrie's participation in both IMSA and WEC underscores its robust design and adaptability. As Aston Martin continues to refine its performance, the team remains optimistic about future races. The lessons learned from recent competitions will be instrumental in enhancing their strategy for upcoming events.

Aston Martin's commitment to innovation and excellence is evident in their approach to motorsport. With each race, they gather valuable insights that contribute to their ongoing development efforts. The Valkyrie's achievements so far are a testament to this dedication.
