Aston Martin DBX S Launches As The New Flagship Supercar SUV With Enhanced Performance
Aston Martin has unveiled the DBX S, a new flagship SUV that builds on the dynamic appeal of the DBX707. This model boasts an engine enhanced with technology from the upcoming Valhalla supercar, offering a thrilling driving experience with increased power and reduced weight. The DBX S features a distinctive design, both inside and out, ensuring it stands out as a unique addition to Aston Martin's lineup.
The DBX S continues Aston Martin's tradition of using the 'S' suffix for high-performance versions of existing models. This lineage began with the Vanquish S in 2004 and includes other notable models like the V8 Vantage S and Rapide S. The DBX S is available for order now, with deliveries expected in late 2025.
At its core, the DBX S houses an upgraded 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, delivering 727PS and 900Nm of torque. This power boost is achieved through turbo technology borrowed from the Valhalla supercar, resulting in a 0-62mph time of just 3.3 seconds. The top speed remains at an impressive 193mph.
The vehicle's performance is further amplified by a modified exhaust system that enhances the natural sound of the V8 engine. Additionally, a new carbon fibre roof option reduces weight by 18kg while lowering the centre of gravity for improved handling.
The DBX S offers magnesium wheels as an option for the first time in any SUV segment vehicle. These wheels are significantly lighter than traditional materials, contributing to better ride quality and steering precision. Customers can also choose from various exterior options, including carbon fibre elements for added weight reduction.
Inside, the DBX S showcases a bespoke 'S' theme with Alcantara and leather options. The interior features herringbone seat designs that convey a sense of speed, complemented by red seatbelts for additional 'S' identification.
Advanced Technology and Safety
Aston Martin's state-of-the-art infotainment system is standard in the DBX S, offering seamless connectivity through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The vehicle also includes advanced safety features like adaptive cruise control and lane departure warning to ensure a secure driving experience.
The braking system comprises carbon ceramic disc brakes at each corner, providing exceptional stopping power. The suspension enhancements introduced last year are retained in this model, ensuring superior ride quality and stability even at high speeds.
