American Honda Reports Strong Sales Momentum With Record Light Truck And Electrified Model Sales In February

American Honda reported a total of 107,011 units sold in February, showcasing robust sales in light trucks and electrified models. The Honda brand alone accounted for 97,688 units, driven by strong demand across its lineup. Light trucks set a new February record with over 70,000 units sold, marking an almost 9% increase from the previous year.

Electrified vehicles reached an all-time high in February with 31,551 units sold. This surge was led by the Civic Hybrid, CR-V Hybrid, Accord Hybrid, and Prologue EV. The Civic Hybrid alone made up over 33% of Civic sales. The Accord Hybrid contributed to 60% of its model's sales despite production slowdowns due to plant retooling.

The CR-V continued to be Honda’s top-selling model with over 30,000 units sold. Its hybrid version set a new record with 17,176 units in February, making up more than 56% of the CR-V sales mix. Meanwhile, the Pilot maintained its leading position in its segment with sales reaching 10,204 units.

Acura achieved sales of 9,323 units in February, marking a 7.3% rise from January despite adverse weather conditions affecting key markets in the Northeast. The MDX saw a significant increase with 3,463 units sold, up by 16.8%. Upper trims like A-Spec and Type S accounted for nearly 40% of these sales.

The HR-V also posted record numbers as Honda’s entry-level CUV with sales of 13,484 units, an increase of 11.3% from January. The Odyssey minivan remained the leader in its segment with a notable rise of 16.5%, selling over 6,700 units for its best February performance in seven years.

Acura's SUV and Sedan Sales

Acura SUV sales rose by 9.5%, totaling 7,518 units in February. The RDX managed to sell 2,561 units despite inventory challenges due to EV Hub retooling efforts. Additionally, the all-electric ZDX had its second-best month ever with sales reaching 1,494 units.

The Passport experienced a nearly 35% increase compared to last year thanks to the early success of the new 2026 model launched on February 11th. TrailSport models made up an impressive 32% of Passport sales during this period.

Overall Sales Figures

American Honda's year-to-date figures show total car sales at 203,785 and truck sales at 147,311 units. This represents slight increases compared to last year’s figures despite some declines in car sales due to plant shutdowns for retooling.

The Integra continued leading its segment with nearly 1,400 units sold in February and holding a market share of about 35%. Despite supply issues linked to EV Hub construction activities impacting availability.

The Acura ADX is expected to further boost Acura's momentum as dealer deliveries are set to begin mid-March.
