American Honda Reports Record April Sales Driven By New Models And Strong Inventory Levels

In April, American Honda achieved sales of 137,656 vehicles. This included record figures for light trucks at 100,079 units and electrified models at 41,116 units. The success was driven by new product launches and a robust inventory. The Honda brand alone saw sales of 123,637 units, marking a 16.6% increase for the month and an 8.5% rise for the year.

Honda's light truck segment experienced significant growth in April with sales reaching 88,807 units, a 24% increase compared to the previous year. The CR-V led all Honda models with sales of 41,483 units, achieving its best April ever. Notably, over half of these were hybrid models. The Pilot also performed well with over 12,000 units sold, marking a 2.3% year-over-year increase.

The all-new Passport recorded its highest-ever April sales with 5,457 units sold, representing a remarkable 98.9% increase from the previous year. Meanwhile, the HR-V posted strong numbers as Honda's entry-level CUV with sales of 13,912 units in April. This marked a year-to-date increase of 6.7%, making it the best April for this model.

Honda set an all-time record for electrified vehicle sales in April with 38,785 units sold. Hybrid-electric models led this achievement; Civic hybrids accounted for over 34% of Civic sales while CR-V hybrids made up more than 53%. Accord hybrids topped the list with over 60% hybrid mix.

The all-electric Prologue SUV contributed to these figures with sales reaching 1,847 units in April. In passenger cars, the Civic led with sales of 23,553 units. It was a record-breaking month for Civic hybrids as they achieved their second-best month ever.

Acura Brand Performance

Acura reported total sales of 14,019 vehicles in April—a significant increase of 33% compared to last year—making it their best April since 2021. This growth was driven by strong performance from the all-new ADX gateway SUV and ample supply across their lineup.

Acura's SUV segment saw impressive gains with sales reaching 11,272 units—a rise of 49.1%. The Acura ADX sold 970 units during its first full month on the market while MDX recorded April sales exceeding 4,230 units—a modest increase of 3.1%. RDX also posted positive results with an increase of 8.2%, selling a total of 3,741 units.

Acura Sedans and Market Share

Acura sedans reached total sales of 2,747 units in April despite some challenges; Integra continued to lead its segment capturing a commanding market share at around41%. The all-electric ZDX set new monthly records by selling2,331units during this period.

Year-to-date figures for American Honda show promising trends: Total vehicle deliveries stand at489,233—an8.6% increase from last year—with cars accounting for133,377units (a decline) while trucks surged ahead totaling355,856units (an impressive gain).

The overall performance highlights American Honda's continued strength across various segments including light trucks and electrified models which have shown substantial growth throughout recent months.
