Honda's SUV sales reached an unprecedented level of over 760,000 units in 2024. The CR-V was a standout performer with sales up by 11%, totalling 402,791 units. This made it the first Honda model to exceed 400k units since the Accord in 2001. Hybrid versions accounted for half of CR-V's sales.

The Pilot model saw a significant increase of 28% year-on-year (YoY), leading its segment for the first time since 2013. The rugged TrailSport variant contributed over 16% to its sales mix. Meanwhile, HR-V achieved its best-ever annual sales exceeding 150,000 units.

Acura's Strong SUV Performance

Acura's SUV sales surpassed the 100,000 mark for the first time since 2021. Sales rose by 18% in the second half of the year and increased by 4% YoY overall. The MDX model maintained strong turn rates despite limited inventory and topped over 50,000 units for two consecutive years.

The RDX model saw a notable increase of 10%, reaching sales of 42,988 units in 2024. The all-electric ZDX also showed growth with sales of 7,391 units as market awareness expanded throughout the year.

Continued Success Amidst Challenges

The Integra model achieved over 24,000 unit sales despite inventory challenges due to preparations for EV production in Ohio. It continued to lead its segment with more than a 41% share of retail sales.

Lance Woelfer from American Honda Motor Co., Inc., stated: "Our strong sales results in 2024...is a direct reflection of our commitment to meeting customer demand today." He emphasised plans to maintain this momentum into next year with new products driving further growth while balancing traditional and electrified powertrains.
