Amel Boubaaya Takes Role As VP Communications For Alpine Brand At Renault Group
Renault Group is pleased to announce that Amel Boubaaya will join the Alpine brand on 1 July 2025. She will take over from David Gendry, who departed in 2024. Amel will report to Christian Stein, Renault Group's Chief Communications Officer, and functionally to Philippe Krief, Alpine CEO and Chief Technology Officer. She will also be part of the brand's Management Committee.
Alpine is set to expand its electric vehicle lineup by 2030 with a range of seven models. On 27 May 2025, Alpine unveiled the A390 in Dieppe, where it will be manufactured. This upcoming five-seater sport fastback will be Alpine's second fully electric model following the A290. The brand also plans to broaden its international presence, particularly in Ireland and Nordic countries like Norway, Finland, and Denmark.

Christian Stein expressed gratitude towards Orianne Tamburini for her interim role during the transition period. He stated, "First of all, I would like to take the opportunity to thank warmly Orianne Tamburini, who has been stepping into the role throughout the transition and supported strongly the team and the brand, as well as responding to request from all the media I now look forward to working closely with Amel. Her extensive experience in the sophisticated automotive world and communications will be an essential asset for Alpine, which in its 70th year is at a key point in its growth, given its strong ambitions."
Amel Boubaaya holds a Master's degree from CELSA (La Sorbonne University). Her career began in 2007 at Renault Sport Technologies in Les Ulis, France. Over the years, she has worked with various car manufacturers across different markets. Her roles have included launching Infiniti in Europe and holding regional and global positions at McLaren Automotive for a decade before joining Bentley Motors as head of Communications EMEA.
Founded by Jean Rédélé in 1955, Alpine is renowned for its French-style sports cars. The brand introduced the new A110 in 2018, staying true to Alpine's principles of compactness and agility. In 2021, Alpine established a Business Unit leveraging its Dieppe factory's heritage and expertise from Alpine Racing and Cars teams. This allows them to compete in FIA championships like Formula 1 and World Endurance Championship.
The year 2024 marks a pivotal moment for Alpine with its "Dream Garage" of fully electric vehicles starting with the A290 hot hatch followed by the A390 sport fastback in 2025. The brand also participates in other racing disciplines through customer racing programmes such as Rally, Cup, and GT4.
Amel Boubaaya’s extensive experience is expected to significantly contribute to Alpine’s ambitious growth plans as it celebrates its 70th anniversary.
