Alpine Endurance Team Achieves Productive Test Day At Le Mans 2024 With Valuable Insights

Alpine has embarked on its 23rd participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, marking its second entry with the A424 in the Hypercar category. The event began with the Pesage and a city parade, highlighting this prestigious endurance race. On Sunday, Alpine Endurance Team completed 137 laps, covering over 1,850 kilometres during Test Day.

The team utilised two three-hour sessions to familiarise themselves with the 13.626-kilometre Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans. Ferdinand Habsburg and Jules Gounon initiated the programme at 10 am, focusing on car setup, pit stops, track evolution, fuel management, and tyre analysis. By day's end, Alpine A424s were fourth and tenth after completing 137 laps.

Ferdinand Habsburg noted their initial steps were promising but emphasised the need for further improvement. "Our first steps were done beautifully, but the hard work begins now," he said. Charles Milesi shared a positive outlook but stressed caution to avoid mistakes while accumulating mileage.

Team Performance

Philippe Sinault, Team Principal of Alpine Endurance Team, expressed satisfaction with the day's results despite its intensity. "While the day seemed to flow smoothly, it was rather intense," he remarked. Nicolas Lapierre highlighted progress in finding the right setup and praised drivers for avoiding errors.

Upcoming Schedule

The week ahead includes free practice sessions and qualifying rounds. Wednesday will feature three hours of free practice followed by Hypercar qualifying and night runs until midnight. Thursday's schedule includes additional practice sessions and Hyperpole events.
