Alex Palou Secures Eighth Victory At Java House Grand Prix Of Monterey With Dominant Performance
Alex Palou maintained his dominance in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES with a flawless performance at the Java House Grand Prix of Monterey. On Sunday, he clinched his third victory at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and his eighth win of the season. Starting from pole position, Palou led 84 out of 95 laps, achieving an average finish of 1.6 in five starts at this track.
Palou's victory places him among elite company in racing history. Only A.J. Foyt, Al Unser, and Mario Andretti have won more races in a single season. Foyt and Unser hold the record with ten wins each, while Andretti has nine. Palou is now one of six drivers to achieve eight wins in a season, a feat last accomplished by Sebastien Bourdais in 2007.
In other racing news, Brazil’s Caio Collet made significant strides in the INDY NXT by Firestone series. He completed a doubleheader sweep over the weekend, putting himself in strong contention for the championship with three races remaining. Collet led all 35 laps in both races, significantly closing the gap to series leader Dennis Hauger.

On Sunday’s podium alongside Palou were Christian Lundgaard from Arrow McLaren and Colton Herta representing Andretti Global w/ Curb-Agajanian, finishing second and third respectively. Reflecting on his win, Palou stated: "It was not easy... We had to push; we had to try to be ready for those (late caution periods). We knew that we were not on the (freshest) of tires... but luckily we had enough pace to open a small gap and get the win."
