Acura ZDX Owners Can Now Use Tesla Supercharger Network Thanks To Approved Adapters
Acura ZDX owners can now access over 23,500 Tesla Superchargers in the U.S. thanks to a new Acura-approved NACS-CCS DC fast-charging adapter. This adapter, tested for performance and compatibility, is the only one approved by Acura for use at any NACS DC fast-charging point. It ensures a reliable charging experience at Tesla Superchargers.
Customers can purchase the Acura-approved NACS-CCS adapter from authorized dealers in the U.S. or online at the DreamShop website. The Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for this adapter is $225. Using approved adapters is crucial, as damage from unapproved ones may not be covered under vehicle warranties.
By 2030, Acura EV owners will have access to around 100,000 DC fast-charge points across North America. This includes networks like IONNA, Tesla Superchargers, EVgo, and others. These initiatives aim to provide more dependable charging options nationwide for Acura drivers.
Ryan Harty, assistant vice president of Sustainability & Business Development at American Honda Motor Co., Inc., stated, "Planning a road trip just got a lot easier for our Acura EV owners with access to the Tesla Supercharger network." This development offers peace of mind with a wider range of charging options.
The Acura Home Electrification (AHE) marketplace simplifies setting up home charging solutions for Acura EV drivers. Customers can also opt for additional products like rooftop solar and smart home energy management systems to reduce energy costs and environmental impact.
Initially, ZDX owners will need the Tesla app to start charging at Superchargers. However, integration with the Acura EV app and plug-and-charge capabilities are being developed to enhance user convenience further.
