Acura Celebrates 15 Years Supporting Independent Artists At The 2025 Sundance Film Festival
Acura is marking its 15th year as a Presenting Sponsor at the Sundance Film Festival. The brand will showcase the all-electric Acura ZDX as the festival's Official Vehicle. The "Acura House of Energy" will host a variety of events from January 24 to 27, featuring panels, interviews, and live performances. This initiative aims to support independent artists and emerging voices in film.
The Acura ZDX Type S, known for its powerful performance, will be the first all-electric vehicle in Acura's fleet at the festival. It will join other models like the MDX Type S as Official Vehicles, facilitating transportation around Park City. Additionally, Acura's performance vehicles, including the Integra Type S and RDX A-spec, will be on display throughout the city.
The Acura House of Energy is located at 550 Swede Alley and will be open to the public from January 24 to January 27. The venue will feature an art installation by stop-motion artists, The Ambriz Brothers. This collaboration highlights Acura's design and engineering innovation through a visual tribute to motion and art.
The festival programming includes partnerships with filmmakers like Max Walker-Silverman and Rachael Abigail Holder. Events are also planned with organizations such as GLAAD, WIF, and IMDb. The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) will host its annual Music Café with exclusive performances and discussions with composers.
On January 24, a panel by the Producers Guild of America will discuss independent film production challenges. Later that day, GLAAD will present panels focusing on trans stories and queer film representation. These discussions aim to elevate LGBTQ+ voices amid increasing anti-trans rhetoric.
Celebrating Diversity in Film
On January 25, WIF will host a brunch celebrating women, nonbinary, and trans filmmakers. Panels will explore how female filmmakers are influencing global cinema and discuss gender allyship in filmmaking. Industry leaders will share insights on supporting diverse genders in their projects.
The same day features a "Risktakers" conversation hosted by Variety with actors and producers discussing bold career moves. Participants include Kali Reis from "Rebuilding" and Cooper Raiff from "Hal & Harper."
Music Meets Film
The Sundance ASCAP Music Café runs on January 26-27, highlighting music's role in filmmaking. Performances by notable artists complement conversations with composers behind this year's festival selections. This event underscores music's power in storytelling.
On January 26, IMDbPro presents a panel with filmmakers like Katarina Zhu and Rashad Frett discussing their creative journeys. Gold House hosts another panel about what it takes for screenplays to get produced in today's industry climate.
Exclusive Events
Several invite-only events are scheduled throughout the festival. These include premiere parties for films like "Rebuilding" on January 26 and "Love, Brooklyn" on January 27. These gatherings offer networking opportunities for industry professionals.
The Acura ADX compact SUV will also be featured at the festival. It offers a youthful design with turbocharged performance aimed at attracting new buyers. The ADX is expected to arrive at dealerships early this year.
