Acura Aims For Victory At The 2025 SportsCar Grand Prix At Road America
Acura has achieved consecutive victories in the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTP races. The #93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian ARX-06, driven by Nick Yelloly and Renger van der Zande, secured a win from pole position at the Detroit Grand Prix. Meanwhile, Colin Braun and Tom Blomqvist triumphed at Watkins Glen with the #60 car.
In 2023, Blomqvist and Braun finished second for Meyer Shank Racing at Road America, contributing to an Acura 2-3 result. The previous year, Ricky Taylor and Filipe Albuquerque clinched victory for Acura at this track with the ARX-05. Taylor had also won here in 2020 alongside Helio Castroneves.
Acura's first triumph at Road America dates back to 1993 when Parker Johnstone and Dan Marvin won the Camel Lights class in their Comptech Racing Acura Spice SE92P. Subsequent victories occurred in the American Le Mans Series during 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2013 in the LMP2 category, as well as overall/LMP1 wins in both 2009 and 2013.
The #93 GTP car signifies Honda Racing Corporation USA's (HRC US) increased involvement. For the first time in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competition, HRC US is responsible for strategizing and engineering this racecar.
The SportsCar Grand Prix at Road America will be broadcast live on NBC Peacock starting at 1 PM CT / 2 PM ET on Sunday, August 3rd. International viewers can tune in via IMSA’s YouTube channel. Additionally, Radio Le Mans will provide live coverage through IMSA.com.
In last year's IMSA race at Road America, the Acura ARX-06 started on pole but finished third. This year marks another opportunity for Acura to showcase its prowess at America's National Park of Speed.
