Acura Targets Victory At The 2025 Rolex 24 At Daytona With Strong Driver Lineup
Acura is aiming to reclaim its winning streak at the Daytona International Speedway. The 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship sees Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian back in action. This team secured victories in 2022 and 2023. Two electrified Acura ARX-06 GTP class prototypes, numbered #60 and #93, will compete.
The #60 Acura ARX-06 will be driven by Colin Braun, Tom Blomqvist, Scott Dixon, and Felix Rosenqvist. These drivers collectively hold nine Rolex wins. Blomqvist contributed to Acura MSR's triumphs in 2022 and 2023, while Braun joined for the 2023 victory. The #93 car features Renger van der Zande, a two-time Rolex 24 winner.
Joining van der Zande are Nick Yelloly, Alex Palou, a three-time IndyCar champion for Honda, and Kakunoshin Ohta. Ohta is an HRC-supported driver making his IMSA debut at the Rolex 24 as part of a partial-season effort. This marks Acura's eleventh appearance as a prototype manufacturer at the Rolex 24.
The #93 GTP car signifies an increased involvement from Honda Racing Corporation USA (HRC US). For the first time in IMSA WeatherTech competition, HRC US will strategize and engineer this racecar. This collaboration highlights Honda's commitment to advancing their motorsport presence.
Acura has a rich history at Daytona, having won overall from 2021 to 2023 and in 2016 under the HPD/Honda banner. Additionally, they claimed victories in the Camel Lights class in both 1991 and 1992. This legacy underscores Acura's longstanding success in endurance racing.
