Acura Secures Third Place Podium Finish At Sebring During 2025 IMSA WeatherTech Championship

Acura's 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship campaign has started strongly with consecutive podium finishes. The #93 Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian ARX-06 secured third place in the 12 Hours of Sebring. Drivers Nick Yelloly, Renger van der Zande, and Alex Palou achieved this after a challenging start at the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

This podium marks a significant achievement for HRC, which has taken on an expanded role in engineering the #93 car. The team celebrated its first top-three finish under this new arrangement. The race was demanding, but the drivers managed to secure third place despite not having the speed to match their competitors.

The #60 Acura MSR ARX-06 faced difficulties at Sebring after finishing second at Daytona. Colin Braun, Tom Blomqvist, and Scott Dixon were in contention for a podium spot until a pit lane incident disrupted their race. Despite efforts to repair the car, they finished in tenth place.

Nick Yelloly expressed his satisfaction with the podium finish, stating: "First podium in red for Acura and Meyer Shank Racing and I'm pretty happy about it. We didn't have quite enough speed for the Porsches in that one unfortunately and it was a straight fight at the end for about 18 to 20 laps."

Renger van der Zande shared his thoughts: "I don't want to say it feels like a victory, but it feels like a victory. It was one of those races where we didn't have the pace or the power to really attack at all."

Challenges Faced by #60 Team

Tom Blomqvist described his experience: "I've never had a good result here and unfortunately this year was the same. The race was kind of all over the place for us, we were at the back and then at the front."

Colin Braun commented on their challenging day: "Super excited for the #93 guys to get a podium for Acura. For us, it was a tough deal on pit lane. Kind of an uneventful, eventful day."

Looking Ahead

The next event is scheduled for April 12th at Long Beach, marking Acura's home race. This will be another opportunity for both teams to build on their experiences from Sebring and aim for better results.

David Salters from Honda Racing Corporation USA praised the team's efforts: "First podium for HRC car #93! Hats off to all the men and women that have put in a huge effort to get us to this point."
