Abbey Road Studios Mode Launches In Volvo EX90 To Enhance In-Car Audio Experience

Volvo Cars has introduced a new sound feature called Abbey Road Studios Mode. This technology, inspired by the renowned recording studio's unique acoustics, is now available in Volvo EX90 vehicles equipped with the optional Bowers & Wilkins High Fidelity Audio system. The update will be delivered over-the-air at no additional cost in the coming weeks.

The Abbey Road Studios Mode offers various presets tailored for different listening preferences. It includes a Producer Mode, which lets users customise their audio experience. This mode allows adjustments to the acoustic environment, stereo sound field, and sound style, ranging from vintage to modern.

Jeremy Huffelmann, General Manager at Abbey Road, expressed excitement about this collaboration. "The Abbey Road Studios Mode brings the unique sound of our spaces and equipment to the Bowers & Wilkins system in the Volvo EX90 for the first time, allowing the driver to shape and personalise the sound in the car for an unparalleled listening experience," he stated.

This update is part of Volvo Cars' ongoing efforts to enhance its software-defined vehicles. Future EX90 and ES90 models with Bowers & Wilkins audio systems will feature this sound mode as standard from production.

The EX90 boasts one of Volvo's quietest cabins ever created. It features 25 strategically placed speakers within the cabin. The optional Bowers & Wilkins audio system delivers an exceptional in-car soundscape with its 1610-watt power and Dolby Atmos capability.

Anders Bell, Volvo Cars' chief engineering and technology officer, highlighted their commitment to improving drivers' daily experiences through technology. "We use technology to improve everyday life for our drivers, so we're excited to offer the Abbey Road Studios Mode in the Volvo EX90," Bell said.
