2026 Subaru Uncharted: All-Electric Crossover With Sporty Performance And Over 300 Miles Of Range
Subaru of America has introduced the 2026 Subaru Uncharted EV in New York City. This new all-electric compact crossover is a significant addition to Subaru's electric vehicle lineup. It offers a sporty driving experience with up to 338 horsepower and accelerates from 0-60 mph in under five seconds. The vehicle supports fast charging, reaching 80% battery capacity in about 30 minutes, and boasts an estimated range exceeding 300 miles on the Premium FWD trim.
The Uncharted is available in Premium FWD, Sport, and GT trims, with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive standard on most models. The name "Uncharted" reflects its adventurous spirit and capability. The vehicle will be available for purchase nationwide in early 2026. Its design prioritises performance and usability, featuring clean lines and efficient packaging for up to five passengers.
The 2026 Subaru Uncharted is engineered for dynamic performance, featuring dual electric motors on the front and rear axles that deliver up to 338 horsepower. This setup ensures responsive handling, complemented by a Subaru-tuned suspension. Despite being nearly seven inches shorter than the Solterra EV, it offers over 25 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row.
The Uncharted's turning radius is comparable to the Crosstrek, making it highly manoeuvrable around town. A high-capacity 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery powers the vehicle, providing impressive range across configurations. Sport and GT models come with standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with X-MODE®, offering an anticipated range of up to 290 miles.
Inside the Uncharted, technology takes centre stage with a standard 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system that includes wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ compatibility. Dual wireless smartphone chargers are located in the front console, while rear passengers have access to dual USB-C chargers for device charging during long trips.
A NACS charge port supports fast charging at speeds up to 150 kW at over 15,000 Tesla Supercharger stations nationwide. In cold weather conditions, an onboard battery preconditioning system enables recharging from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes. At home, an 11-kW onboard charger provides easy access to Level One and Level Two charging options.
Safety and Comfort
The Uncharted comes equipped with EyeSight® driver-assist technologies such as Pre-Collision Braking, Front Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitors, Lane Departure Alert, Emergency Stop Assist, Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control, and more. Specific trim levels offer additional features like a panoramic view monitor, Traffic Jam Assist, and Lane Change Assist.
All trim levels include an All-Weather Package with heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors, windshield wiper de-icer; power rear gate; interior ambient lighting; and DriverFocus® Distraction Mitigation System. The Sport trim adds X-MODE® Dual-Mode with Grip Control and other enhancements like a heated steering wheel and StarTex® water-repellent upholstery.
Design Elements
The exterior design of the Subaru Uncharted showcases sporty lines while maintaining efficiency for passenger space. It shares Subaru’s lighting signature with the Solterra and Trailseeker models. The vehicle features distinctive headlamps resistant to weather conditions along with a six-star illuminated logo at the front.
New wheel designs are available in either 18 or 20 inches depending on trim level choice; GT trims offer a high-contrast two-tone roof option enhancing visual appeal further still!
