Spy Pics: 2026 Renault Duster Spotted Testing In India Ahead Of Jan 26 Launch

The upcoming 2026 Renault Duster has been sighted testing in India as the French carmaker prepares for its launch on 26 January 2026. The 2026 Renault Duster marks the brand's re-entry into the heavily contested C-SUV segment.

The camouflaged test of the 2026 Duster shows several elements of the new design. The SUV retains the familiar Duster proportions with a raised bonnet, squared stance and prominent body cladding. The test mule features roof rails, a shark-fin antenna, heavy wheel-arch moulding and rear-door handles positioned high near the C-pillar.

The Indian version of the Renault Duster is expected to carry over most of the design cues of its European sibling. Up front, the headlights appear in a rectangular housing paired with Y-shaped LED daytime running lamps. The grille carries the updated RENAULT lettering.

At the rear, the India-spec Duster prototype spotted testing tail-lamps that look to be the same V-shaped design seen on the international model, but with most of the units under camo, we cannot confirm these to be the same design. A roof-mounted spoiler is also visible on the test unit.

Though the cabin has not been revealed, the production model is expected to follow the global Duster's interior layout. The interior is anticipated to feature a floating infotainment unit, digital instrument display and refreshed trim, similar to the configuration used in the latest international version.

The new Duster is based on the CMF-B LS modular platform that underpins Renault-Nissan alliance models in multiple global markets. International versions get a range of powertrains, including petrol and hybrid options. The Indian version of the 2026 Renault Duster will be detailed closer to launch; however, we do expect the SUV to arrive with a regular petrol powerplant when it launches in January.

Renault is using the final test phase to validate India-specific components and calibrations before production begins. The newly spotted prototype of the Duster indicates that the SUV is nearing its final development stage, with exterior hardware and body panels consistent with the global model already in circulation.

The Duster's return forms part of Renault's next product cycle for India, with the SUV serving as one of its key upcoming launches. The Duster is expected to be followed by the Bigster, its 7-seater sibling and more SUVs in the near future as Renault looks to roar back to its glory days in India.
