2026 Renault Duster: Iconic SUV With Big Expectations
Renault is all set to launch its iconic Duster back in India on 26/01/2026. This SUV which started the Compact SUV segment is finally returning to India along with some exciting features and powertrain options. So, what are all the expectations for this new 2026 Duster? Let's check out.
Renault Duster expectations
Exterior Design
The 2026 Duster has a redesigned front grille with a fully written Renault logo replacing their 3D emblem. The new Duster looks broader and sharper than the older-generation model that was selling in India.
It also comes with Horizontal Y-shaped LED DRLs, LED headlamps, and V-shaped tail lamps. Renault Duster also gets a roof spoiler, a silver skid plate, a Range Rover-like badge on the door, and a larger bumper to make it look robust and tough. On the sides, it has 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, squared-off wheel arches, and plastic inserts.
Interiors

The biggest difference will be visible once we get into its interior. It has a big 10.1-inch floating infotainment system, a 7-inch driver display, a clean-looking premium dashboard with a Duster logo, and Y-shaped AC vents.
Tech features
Like the international model, we are expecting similar tech features for the indian variant. The 2026 Renault Duster could have the same 10.1-inch touch infotainment system with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Additionally, it gets a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, an Engine start/stop feature, steering-mounted controls, cruise control, and a 6-speaker premium Arkamys sound system. One of the biggest advantages is that it has physical buttons for controls.
Powertrain Options
The international version comes with many powertrain options: a 1.3-litre mild-hybrid turbo petrol, a 1.6-litre strong-hybrid petrol with a 1.2 kWh battery, and a 1.0-litre petrol LPG. We expect the 1.3-litre mild-hybrid petrol variant, which produces 130 PS, to make its way to India as it will be more affordable and cost-effective for the indian market. It is expected to come with both manual and automatic transmissions.

Safety and equipment
The indian variant is expected to feature 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, TPMS, ESC, Hill-hold assist, and electronic parking brake as standard features. The global variant has 8 airbags and Level 2 ADAS features, and it is expected to be sold in the top-of-the-line variant.
Rivals
Renault Duster is the car that created the compact SUV segment, but now it is ruled by the Hyundai Creta. Because of the Duster's exile, brands like Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Kia, Volkswagen, Skoda, and MG have established themselves in the market. So, pricing will be a key factor, and we expect the 2026 Renault Duster to be priced between 10- 16 lakhs (ex-showroom).
