Cadillac's OPTIQ-V will be available in several regions, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, the Middle East, and Israel. Production is set to begin in autumn 2025. The vehicle marks General Motors' first to feature a native North American Charging Standard (NACS) inlet, simplifying electric vehicle charging across North America.
The OPTIQ-V is designed for driving enthusiasts who enjoy pushing their vehicles to the limit. It offers a balanced mix of aerodynamics, weight distribution, agility, and safety. "The V-Series was a natural continuation with the OPTIQ’s architecture," said John Cockburn, OPTIQ-V chief engineer.
Standard features include dual motor all-wheel drive with an estimated range of 275 miles on a full charge. The vehicle also includes advanced technologies like V-Mode for performance customization and Launch Control for rapid acceleration. Brembo front brake calipers ensure excellent stopping power during spirited driving.
The interior of the OPTIQ-V combines performance-focused details with cutting-edge technology. Two interior palette options are available: Noir with Santorini Blue accents or Noir and Sky Cool Gray with Santorini Blue accents. The cabin features recycled materials and carbon fiber décor for a sporty look.
A standout feature is the 33-inch-diagonal LED display that integrates Google built-in services like Maps and Assistant. The standard AKG Studio Audio System with Dolby Atmos provides an immersive sound experience. Safety technologies include adaptive cruise control and Blind Zone Steering Assist.
Exterior Styling
The exterior design of the OPTIQ-V is both athletic and elegant, featuring unique blue accents inspired by the V-Series badge. The front fascia includes a high gloss black splitter and body-colored lower trim. A carbon fiber package adds further styling elements like a rear diffuser and mid-spoiler.
Wheel options include standard 21-inch satin graphite alloy wheels or optional polished wheels in a dark sport finish. The vehicle also offers two limited edition exterior colours: Magnus Metal Frost and Deep Ocean Tintcoat.
Charging Capabilities
The OPTIQ-V supports various charging options to enhance convenience for owners. With its NACS port, it provides access to fast charging networks across North America. Charging times vary depending on the charger used; DC Fast Charge can add up to 70 miles in just 10 minutes.
The vehicle's battery system consists of an 85-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion pack offering reliable energy storage for long drives. Home charging requires professionally installed dedicated stations for optimal efficiency.
"Integrating the native NACS port into our vehicle architecture is an important step forward," said John Cockburn, reflecting GM's commitment to providing more charging options.
