2026 Kia Seltos To Be Revealed Tomorrow (10 December) - What We Know So Far

The next-generation Kia Seltos will make its global debut in India tomorrow (December 10). This will be the second generation of the Seltos to come to India since the current SUV was first launched in 2019.

The current Kia Seltos received a heavy facelift in 2023, but the new Seltos arriving tomorrow adopts an all-new design, a rebuilt cabin and revised powertrain choices aimed at strengthening its position in the midsize SUV segment.

Design changes to the new-gen Seltos are extensive, starting with Kia's updated interpretation of the tiger-nose grille paired with slim headlamps and vertically stacked LED daytime running lamps that connect visually with the front elements.

The bumper, bonnet and lighting signatures have been reworked to deliver a more upright and SUV-like stance, while the sides carry flush-fitting door handles, new alloy wheels and strengthened cladding. At the rear, the Seltos moves to a full-width LED light bar linking redesigned tail-lamps, along with a reshaped tailgate and bumper.

Inside, the Seltos adopts a redesigned dashboard with twin 12.3-inch displays housed within a single curved panel spanning infotainment and instrumentation. Slimmer air vents, new switchgear, and revised storage areas enhance the layout and usability.

Higher variants are expected to feature ventilated and powered front seats, ambient lighting, wireless charging, and upgraded materials across touchpoints. The cabin takes on a more premium look with enhanced textures and finishes compared to the outgoing model.

The new Seltos brings a strong-hybrid powertrain to India for the first time, based on the existing 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Output figures are yet to be revealed but efficiency gains are expected to be a key part of the upgrade.

The 2026 Seltos will continue with the current 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines, retaining their 160hp and 116hp outputs respectively. A mix of manual, torque-converter automatic and dual-clutch transmissions is likely to remain available across the range.

Safety features on the new Seltos are expected to advance with Level 2 driver assistance equipment, including adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping functions. Six airbags, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto hold and tyre-pressure monitoring are also expected on higher variants.

The 2026 Kia Seltos SUV is expected to reach Indian showrooms in the first half of 2026. It will continue to compete with rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Honda Elevate and upcoming newcomers, including the Tata Sierra. The presence of a hybrid option, updated design language, and revised feature list positions the Seltos for a stronger statement in an increasingly competitive segment.
