2026 GMC HUMMER EV Introduces King Crab Mode And Enhanced Performance Features
The GMC HUMMER EV has established itself as a unique electric supertruck. The 2026 model introduces the King Crab off-road rear-steer mode, enhancing its capabilities. This feature, available via an over-the-air update, improves maneuverability by allowing the rear wheels to turn faster than the front ones. King Crab mode is not limited to new models; it will also be available to 2022 through 2025 HUMMER EV owners via an update later this year. The 2026 HUMMER EV boasts bidirectional charging capabilities for both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-home power transfers. Additionally, the enhanced Super Cruise system offers hands-free driving with features like Hands on Lane Change Assist.
The Carbon Fiber Edition of the 2026 HUMMER EV stands out with its rapid acceleration, reaching 0-60 mph in just 2.8 seconds. This edition is available for the 3X Pickup and SUV models and features exclusive design elements like Magnus Gray Matte exterior and Velocity Ember interior themes. It also includes unique carbon fiber components and all-terrain tires.
For those interested in aesthetics, the 2026 HUMMER EV introduces two new exterior paint options: Coastal Dune and Auburn Matte. Inside, new themes such as Granite Drift and Stealth Eclipse are available, maintaining the vehicle's premium off-road lifestyle appeal while ensuring everyday practicality.
The HUMMER EV's infotainment system now includes a customizable split view screen for easy access to essential data. Google Built-In expands entertainment options during charging times, supported by OnStar connectivity for intelligent routing and voice assistance.
Production Details
Production of the 2026 HUMMER EV will commence later this year at GM’s Factory ZERO Assembly Center in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan. This facility produces GMC’s all-electric trucks: the HUMMER EV Pickup, SUV, and Sierra EV. The new models will be available at GMC dealers later this year, with pricing details announced closer to launch.
