2026 Corvette ZR1X Unveiled: A New Era For American Hypercars With Unmatched Power And Performance
Chevrolet is set to launch the 2026 Corvette ZR1X, an all-wheel drive hypercar boasting 1,250 horsepower. This new model combines electrified all-wheel drive with the renowned ZR1 designation, making it the most advanced Corvette to date. The ZR1X features a powerful LT7 twin-turbo V8 engine and a front-axle motor, offering impressive performance metrics like a GM-estimated 0-60 mph in under two seconds.
The heart of the ZR1X is its LT7 V8 engine, producing 1,064 horsepower and 828 lb-ft of torque. This power is delivered to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The engine includes dual turbochargers and advanced exhaust design for improved throttle response. Additionally, dynamic anti-lag controls ensure rapid boost availability when needed.

ZR1X's front axle motor contributes an extra 186 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. This electric motor enhances acceleration and on-track balance by engaging up to speeds of 160 mph. The battery pack, similar to E-Ray's but with increased usable energy, supports these enhancements by rapidly cycling power.
ZR1X benefits from an upgraded eAWD chassis control system initially developed for E-Ray. This system optimizes power distribution across both axles for better traction and responsiveness. On track, specialized energy strategies maximize electrified output based on driver preferences and session demands.
The PTM Pro system, new for all Corvettes in 2026, offers a pure driving experience by maintaining essential features like Regen Brake Torque Vectoring while turning off traction control. This ensures peak energy recovery without compromising agility or corner-exit traction.
Braking System and Chassis Options
The ZR1X comes equipped with a robust braking system specifically designed for this model. The J59 braking package includes Alcon calipers paired with large carbon ceramic rotors for superior heat resistance and responsive braking. During testing, this setup achieved impressive deceleration figures.
Two chassis configurations are available: the standard version with Michelin PS4S tires for comfort and capability, and the ZTK Performance Package featuring firmer springs and Michelin Pilot Cup 2R tires for maximum performance. An optional Carbon Aero package adds aerodynamic enhancements like dive planes and a rear wing.
Interior Features and Production Details
Inside, the ZR1X showcases Corvette's latest interior design with a three-screen layout and reimagined console. Real-time vehicle data is accessible through the built-in Performance App. High-quality materials and new color options enhance the cabin's appeal.
Every ZR1X will be assembled at General Motors' Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Kentucky using U.S. and globally sourced parts. Each LT7 engine is hand-built by skilled craftsmen at the Bowling Green Performance Build Center.
The introduction of the Corvette ZR1X marks a significant milestone in American automotive engineering, combining cutting-edge technology with traditional performance excellence. Further details regarding pricing and availability will be announced as production nears commencement.
