Volkswagen of America, Inc. has announced that the 2025 Volkswagen Atlas has been honoured as one of Cars.com's Best Cars for Car Seats. Additionally, the all-electric 2025 Volkswagen ID. Buzz has been recognised as a Top Finisher in a new category for 2025. This recognition highlights Volkswagen's commitment to safety and practicality in their vehicles.
Volkswagen SUVs have consistently excelled in Cars.com's Car Seat Check program over the past three years. Models like the Atlas, Atlas Cross Sport, ID.4, and Tiguan have consistently received top grades. Thomas Zorn, Vice President of Vehicle Safety at Volkswagen Group of America, stated, "At Volkswagen, we know that for many families, choosing a vehicle starts with safety and practicality."
The Cars.com Best Cars for Car Seats Report evaluates vehicles based on comprehensive Car Seat Checks conducted by certified child passenger safety technicians. These experts install various car seats into each vehicle to assess the Latch system and overall accommodation for different car seats.
Jennifer Geiger, Cars.com news editor and certified child passenger safety technician, praised the 2025 Volkswagen Atlas for its family-friendly design. She noted its three-row layout with easy-to-find Latch anchors and ample space for car seats. The second row offers flexibility with either a bench or captain’s chairs configuration.
The 2025 Atlas is produced at Volkswagen's advanced facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It provides spaciousness and competitive technology while maintaining Volkswagen's driving dynamics. The model features enhanced technology and interior designs with an MSRP starting at $38,200.
ID. Buzz: A Practical EV Option
The all-electric ID. Buzz was recognised as a Top Finisher due to its practical features for families seeking an electric vehicle (EV). Its wide seats with exposed lower anchors and removable head restraints make it convenient for car seat installation.
With seating for up to seven passengers and modern features like a 12.9-inch infotainment display and IQ.DRIVE® driver assistance, the ID. Buzz combines retro-inspired design with family functionality. The MSRP begins at $59,995.
Recognition Criteria
The Top Finishers category is new for 2025 and acknowledges vehicles that performed exceptionally well in Car Seat Checks by receiving mostly A grades with only one B per row for three-row vehicles or two-row vehicles.
