2025 Škoda Kodiaq Launched In India: Prices Start At Rs 46.89 Lakh, Available In 2 Variants
With Škoda Auto India reaching a significant milestone of 25 years in India and 130 years globally, the brand has introduced the latest generation of its luxury 4x4, the Kodiaq, to the Indian market. This introduction is part of the celebrations and highlights Škoda's ongoing commitment to expanding its premium portfolio in India.
Following the launch of its first-ever sub-4m SUV, the Kylaq, in 2025, the arrival of the new Kodiaq further underscores Škoda Auto's product offensive strategy. The Kodiaq, now in its second iteration both in India and worldwide, blends luxury, sophistication, and a myriad of capabilities, offering a seven-seat configuration that caters to both off-road adventures and on-road comfort.
Petr Janeba, Brand Director at Škoda Auto India, expressed enthusiasm about the Kodiaq's launch, noting its contribution to the brand's record-breaking monthly sales in March, alongside the Kylaq, Kushaq, and Slavia. Janeba emphasized, "In March, we recorded our biggest ever monthly sales in India, driven by the Kylaq launch, and supported by the Kushaq and Slavia. This is one of many new records we aim to set this year. In line with our product offensive strategy, the launch of the all-new Kodiaq showcases the other end of our product spectrum with Škoda's luxury and technology prowess. The Kodiaq has now grown to be an important legacy name for us like the Octavia and Superb. The Kodiaq offers the ultimate luxury and handling for city roads and also packs in versatile all-terrain capabilities."
The new Škoda Kodiaq boasts a 2.0 TSI engine that delivers a powerful 150kW and 320Nm of torque, ensuring a dynamic driving experience. This performance is smoothly managed by a seven-speed dual clutch DSG automatic transmission, distributing power effectively to both axles.
Manufactured on the MQB37 platform, the Kodiaq is available in the Sportline and Selection L&K variants, with both configurations offering seven seats. Assembled in India at Škoda's facility in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, the vehicle has been acknowledged for its fuel efficiency, with a rating of 14.86 km/l by ARAI.
The design of the Kodiaq has been meticulously crafted to balance aesthetics and functionality. The vehicle is 59mm longer than its predecessor, measuring 4,758mm in length and 1,679mm in height, with a width of 1,864mm and a wheelbase of 2,791mm. The luxury 4x4's elevated design offers impressive ground clearance and a spacious interior capable of accommodating up to 1,976 litres of luggage with the rear seats folded down.
The Kodiaq's interior features two distinct themes - an all-black sporty décor for the Sportline variant and premium Cognac leather upholstery for the Selection L&K trim. Advanced technology and comfort enhancements include a 32.77-cm infotainment system, multi-function Smart Dials, and Ergo front seats with a pneumatic massage function.
Safety and comfort are paramount in the Kodiaq, equipped with 9 airbags, a sliding panoramic sunroof, and a 725W Canton sound system. The vehicle's bold exterior is distinguished by LED Beam Crystallinium headlamps with a Welcome Effect, Dark Chrome accents or Glossy Black highlights depending on the variant, and a front grille with an integrated horizontal light strip.
The Škoda Kodiaq is available in six colour options, including an exclusive Bronx Gold for the Selection L&K variant and Steel Grey for the Sportline. Škoda Auto India is enhancing the ownership experience by offering a standard 5-year/125,000 kms warranty and a 10-year complimentary Road-Side Assistance. The first year of maintenance is covered by the Škoda Supercare package at no additional cost to the customer.
