Mahindra has rolled out the mid-life facelift for the Thar, and while it looks familiar at first glance, there's more under the surface than meets the eye. From subtle design tweaks to fresh comfort touches, here are the top 5 things you need to know about the 2025 Mahindra Thar facelift.
2025 Mahindra Thar Facelift: Subtle Exterior Design Tweaks
The 2025 Mahindra Thar gets subtle exterior tweaks that will require you to look for just a little while longer to notice them. The front bumper sports silver inserts to lend a premium contrast, while the grille switches from black to body colour. Two fresh colourways have also been added to the Thar's colour options: Battleship Grey and Tango Red.
At the back, the full-size alloy wheel for the spare makes a return after being replaced earlier with a steel wheel. The rear camera is now mounted on the spare wheel hub, similar to the setup on the 5-door Thar Roxx. Otherwise, classic Thar design cues remain intact.
2025 Mahindra Thar Facelift: Visible Cabin Enhancements
Inside the cabin, changes become more obvious. The front row now gets grab handles mounted on the A-pillars and the steering wheel has been borrowed from the Thar Roxx.
Mahindra has also made a few changes that help with the comfort of those inside the cabin. The front armrest is now a sliding unit with storage, and the automatic versions of the Thar now feature a dead pedal. The power window switches have been moved away from the centre console to the doors. Rear passengers now get dedicated AC vents mounted atop the central tunnel.
2025 Mahindra Thar Facelift: Tech & Convenience Additions
The big changes in terms of tech come in the form of the 10.25-inch touchscreen on the Mahindra Thar, which replaces the 7-inch unit found on the previous version of the off-roader. The infotainment unit also features a refreshed UI.
The infotainment setup also features Mahindra's Adventure Stats Gen II system that provides real-time off-road information, including an altimeter, outside temperature, trip data, tyre pressure and steering direction
A new reverse-parking camera has been added to the equipment list of the facelifted Thar, and there are.USB Type-C ports in the front and rear. Also seen is a rear wiper with a washer. Another notable addition is the electronic release for the fuel lid-no more getting out to open it manually.
2025 Mahindra Thar Facelift: Simplified Variants
Mahindra has also made the new variant labels easier to understand. Variants previously known as the AX Opt and LX have been renamed AXT and LXT, respectively. The AXT trim remains restricted to rear-wheel drive and the entry-level D117 CRDe Diesel engine, while the LXT trim level is offered with both rear-wheel and four-wheel drive layouts and all three engine options.

Pricing for the 2025 Thar facelift falls between ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and ₹16.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
