2025 Kia Sportage Hybrid Recognised As Best Compact SUV For Value By Cars.com
The 2025 Kia Sportage Hybrid has been honoured by Cars.com as the Best Hybrid in the Compact SUV category. This marks the second year in a row that the Sportage Hybrid has received this recognition. "Kia continues to prioritize value and innovation in the hybrid segment, and the Sportage Hybrid is a reflection of that," said Steven Center, COO & EVP, Kia America.
Cars.com's Best Hybrids for the Money list evaluates vehicles based on efficiency-cost ratings. These ratings are calculated by dividing the EPA's combined mpg rating by the vehicle's base price, including MSRP and destination charges. The 2025 Sportage Hybrid excelled in this evaluation, offering outstanding value in both efficiency and cost.

The list exclusively features non-plug-in hybrid models for 2025. Jennifer Geiger, Cars.com News Editor, stated, "The Kia Sportage Hybrid wins in the compact SUV category for its excellent combined mpg and attractive starting price." She also highlighted its spacious interior and advanced tech features as reasons for its inclusion on the list.
Kia America is headquartered in Irvine, California, and consistently ranks highly in automotive quality surveys. Recognized as one of TIME World's Most Sustainable Companies of 2024, Kia serves as the "Official Automotive Partner" of both the NBA and WNBA. The company offers a diverse range of gasoline, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicles through nearly 800 U.S. dealers.
As Kia continues to impress with its current offerings, it has already unveiled the 2026 Sportage. This new model builds upon its predecessor's success with a complete redesign focusing on design, innovation, technology, and convenience. It comes with three powertrain options: ICE, Turbo Hybrid (HEV), and Turbo Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), along with various trims like X-Line and X-Pro Prestige.
Expanding Options for Consumers
Kia's lineup includes several cars and SUVs assembled in America from both U.S. and globally sourced parts. Models like select trims of the 2025 all-electric EV6 and EV9 SUVs are part of this assembly process. However, HEV and PHEV models of Sportage and Sorento are exceptions to this assembly location.
The recognition from Cars.com underscores Kia's dedication to providing a wide array of choices without sacrificing performance or design. As they continue to innovate within their lineup, customers can expect more advancements from Kia in future models.
