2025 BMW M4 CS Edition VR46: A Special Tribute To Valentino Rossi's Legacy
BMW M has unveiled the 2025 BMW M4 CS Edition VR46, a special edition car celebrating Valentino Rossi's 46th birthday. This limited edition is available in two unique colours: Frozen Tanzanite Blue Metallic and Marina Bay Blue Metallic. Only 92 units will be produced globally, with 46 cars in each colour. The pre-order process will begin on February 24, 2025, at 6:00 pm EST and end on March 28, 2025, at 11:59 pm EST.
The BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 stands out with its exclusive paint finishes that complement the carbon surfaces like the hood contours. The Marina Bay Blue metallic version features a large '46' in darker Tanzanite Blue metallic on both sides, while the Frozen Tanzanite Blue metallic version has the '46' in Frozen Marina Bay Blue metallic. These details highlight Rossi's iconic number.
Valentino Rossi, known as "The Doctor," played a significant role in designing this special edition. His trademark number '46' is prominently displayed on various parts of the car, including the doors and carbon fibre-reinforced plastic roof. Rossi expressed his pride in being part of this project, stating, "There is no other brand that has motorsport so deeply rooted in its DNA as BMW M."
The interior of the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 features Black/Night Blue Merino leather seats with Sao Paulo Yellow Alcantara accents. The steering wheel is wrapped in Alcantara with yellow stitching and a centre marker at the top position. The cabin also includes VR46 logos on headrests and door sills.
Under the hood, the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 boasts a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, delivering 543 hp. This power allows it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 188 mph. The engine's design ensures optimal performance for track use.
The car's chassis technology is tailored to match its engine performance and weight distribution. Features include adaptive M suspension with model-specific tuning for precise steering and control during cornering. The braking system includes bright yellow calipers bearing an M logo.
Rossi's Racing Legacy
Valentino Rossi's racing career began with his first world title in the 125cc class in 1997. He later dominated MotoGP, securing nine world championships by 2009. His number '46' became synonymous with his success and style, even influencing his hometown Tavullia to lower its speed limit to honour him.
After retiring from motorcycle racing in 2021, Rossi transitioned to automobile racing. Since early 2023, he has been competing as a BMW M Motorsport works driver in various series such as GT World Challenge Europe and FIA World Endurance Championship.
