2025 Audi Q6 E-tron Achieves TOP SAFETY PICK+ Award For Enhanced Passenger Safety

The 2025 Audi Q6 e-tron has achieved the prestigious 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). This accolade highlights its commitment to safety, especially with new criteria focusing on rear-passenger protection during moderate-overlap front collision tests. The Q6 e-tron not only meets these stringent standards but also enhances its consumer appeal with a comprehensive suite of safety features.

To secure the TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, vehicles must excel in several areas. The Q6 e-tron received top ratings in small overlap front and updated side tests. It also scored well in pedestrian front crash prevention evaluations, which assess performance in both daytime and nighttime conditions. Additionally, all trims must have headlights rated as acceptable or good.

Audi Q6 e-tron Wins TOP SAFETY PICK+ Award

The Audi Q6 e-tron is equipped with numerous standard and optional driver assistance features. In potential collision scenarios, the proactive passenger protection system activates by closing windows and sunroof while tightening front seat belts. This preparation aims to mitigate impact effects.

Standard Active Front Assist integrates four functions: Front Emergency Brake Assist, Swerve Assist, Front Turn Assist, and Front Cross Traffic Assist. These features work together to enhance safety by providing timely interventions during critical situations on the road.

The vehicle's standard lane-departure warning helps maintain lane discipline through corrective steering and steering wheel vibrations at highway speeds above 40 mph. Additionally, Audi side assist offers blind spot monitoring using LED indicators on exterior mirrors at speeds over 6 mph.

Rear cross-traffic assist aids drivers when reversing at speeds up to 6 mph by alerting them to approaching vehicles through indicator arrows on the MMI display. In urgent situations, it can apply a warning tone and brake jolt to prompt stopping.

Adaptive Cruise Control and Camera Systems

The available Adaptive Cruise Assist with lane guidance assists with acceleration, braking, speed maintenance, and lane centering. It uses radar, cameras, and sensors to monitor surroundings continuously for highway and stop-and-go driving support.

A top-view camera system is also available, providing a simulated 360-degree view of the vehicle's surroundings using images from front, rear, and side cameras. This feature aids parking and navigating tight spaces effectively.

The IIHS has made its highest award more challenging to achieve by updating its moderate-overlap front test criteria. This test now includes an additional dummy representing smaller occupants in the second row behind the driver. New metrics focus on common injuries among rear-seat passengers during collisions.

Audi of America remains committed to responsible growth through transformation. In 2024, it launched new vehicle platforms—Premium Platform Electric and Premium Platform Combustion—offering top-tier internal combustion engine (ICE) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) options. That year saw record sales of 196,576 vehicles in the U.S., including notable achievements in Audi Sport sales and after-sales services.
