Zenvo Automotive Joins Forces With Aerotak For Cutting-Edge Aurora Aero Solutions
The all-new Zenvo Aurora has been developed around the concept of an ‘equilibrium of extremes’. From the outset, the Aurora models have been developed to optimise each element of the design through a carefully balanced blend of each attribute, rather than compromising any one area through an overriding pursuit of top speed, power or styling. A key factor in this process was to ensure the styling was both aggressive and elegant, while ensuring handling and driving engagement were not compromised.
Zenvo Automotive focuses on limited-edition hypercars, available to those interested in completely bespoke manufacturing experiences and unique driving abilities. The Aurora will be fully homologated for global markets and will showcase Zenvo’s exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail, all designed in-house. Hand-built in Præstø, Denmark, Zenvo Automotive pride themselves on their Danish foundations.

The Zenvo design department had a very clear ambition for the Aurora program. Not wanting to design ‘just another hypercar’, Zenvo wanted to ‘break the mold’ of traditional automotive design, to create a unique car rooted in the Danish design philosophy of form following function. "It has been a very interesting, but also a very challenging process to design the Aurora models," commented Christian Brandt, Design Director for Zenvo Automotive.
Zenvo is proud to once again partner with renowned Aerotak, with the Danish aerodynamic experts having already given valuable input on the TS1 GT, TSR and TSR-S programmes, producing all the simulations for the ‘centripetal wing’. Founded in 2017, Aerotak continues to grow in the aero-architecture space; they were the natural choice for Zenvo when looking to gain a comprehensive understanding of airflow for the Aurora Agil and Tur.
Aerotak focus as much on close collaboration as they do on respecting and upholding the spirit of Zenvos design. To do this, the specialist team uses an aero-architecture method, delineating the specific goals behind the simulations before reviewing the holistic design of the car and isolating specific areas. From these findings, modifications can be trialled while maintaining a focus on achieving Zenvo’s optimisation goals.
With aero-architecture goals established, Aerotak carried out simulations to understand effects of design iterations. This allowed updates to optimise and create aerodynamic designs for both Aurora models. As part of this detailed simulation programme, Aerotak included full arrow maps and x-ray imaging throughout development. This ensured transparent reporting and optimal performance in various scenarios that Zenvo’s hypercars may encounter.
Performance Insights
This could be high winds, rain, driving over apexes or taking closed curves at high speeds. Therefore ensures that Aurora will perform predictably in every situation. Commenting on partnership, Founder & Senior Fluid Mechanics Specialist Kasper Damkjær remarked: "For us at Aerotak, we have nothing less than highest praise for our collaboration between ourselves and Zenvo’s design team."
"Nothing is as motivating as working with a design team that not only listens to our feedback but also has a desire to understand Aerotak," Damkjær continued. "For them, our work provides visual validation of their design but also works as a key player in delivering best possible performance for Aurora project."
Design Challenges
The Agil variant presented new questions that had to be worked through as a team. Working closely with Aerotak streamlined this process significantly. "There is good reason that Formula 1 cars look way they do – it’s all about optimal downforce," Brandt added. "We quickly realised beauty and aerodynamics sometimes clash – so we had many iterations to get perfect balance."
The all-new Aurora will take inspiration from Danish design principles and be powered by a 6.6-litre flex fuel enabled quad-turbocharged V12 engine producing at least 1,250bhp at 8,000 rpm revving up to 9800 rpm. Development of this bespoke powerplant continues at pace along with dedicated fleet test cars.
Zenvo Automotive began with TS1 prototype introducing brand's twin-charged technology. Since then developed TS1 GT grand tourer TSR track model TSR-S sold out TSR-GT. In August 2023 revealed all-new Aurora V12 hypercar available in Agil Tur model designations.
Production limited just handful cars per year manufactured Denmark available collectors enthusiasts worldwide.
