WorldSBK Season Finale: Toprak Razgatlioglu Crowned Champion At Jerez De La Frontera

The 2024 FIM Superbike World Championship concluded with a memorable weekend for BMW Motorrad Motorsport at Jerez de la Frontera. Toprak Razgatlioglu from the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team clinched the World Championship title on Saturday with his BMW M 1000 RR. On Sunday, he celebrated his 18th victory of the season, while teammate Michael van der Mark secured third place, achieving a shared podium finish.

Razgatlioglu arrived at the event with a significant points lead, ensuring his championship win by finishing second in Saturday's race. Despite this, he aimed for another victory. In Sunday's Superpole race, he again finished second but triumphed in the main race later that day. Van der Mark also reached the podium after two sixth-place finishes, marking his second podium of the season following his win at Magny-Cours.

The Bonovo action BMW Racing Team marked their final race weekend with the BMW M 1000 RR at Jerez de la Frontera as their partnership ended after four years. Garrett Gerloff finished seventh twice on Sunday, while Scott Redding placed twelfth in both races. Throughout the 2024 season, BMW riders achieved 19 victories and 12 additional podium finishes, securing second place in the manufacturers' championship.

Sven Blusch, Head of BMW Motorrad Motorsport, expressed his amazement at their achievements: "To be honest, I’m speechless. This is a moment where Toprak and all of us together have made history." He acknowledged the significance of the World Championship title for everyone involved and thanked those who contributed to this success.
