Volvo Reports Robust April Sales In USA And Canada With Electrified Models Gaining Traction
In a notable surge in sales performance, Volvo Car USA and Canada have reported a significant uptick for April 2024, with a total of 11,814 cars sold across both markets. This marks a 12.3 percent increase compared to the same period in the previous year. A key driver behind this growth is the heightened demand for electrified models, which include both fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. These models accounted for a substantial 32.8 percent share of total sales, showcasing an impressive 16.9 percent rise from last year.
In the United States alone, sales reached 10,604 vehicles in April, climbing 10.3 percent over the previous year. This growth was significantly propelled by an 89 percent surge in plug-in hybrid sales. Electrified models made up 31.4 percent of total U.S. sales, marking a 13.2 percent increase. Leading the charge in popularity were the XC60 compact luxury SUV, with 3,261 units sold, followed by the XC90 midsize luxury SUV and the XC40 small luxury SUV, selling 3,062 and 2,426 cars respectively.
