Volkswagen Taigun & Virtus Onam Editions Launched At Rs 13.57 Lakh: Limited To Just 100 Units

Volkswagen has introduced special Onam editions for its Taigun SUV and Virtus sedan, priced between Rs 14.08 lakh-15.63 lakh and Rs 13.57 lakh-14.87 lakh, respectively. These editions are exclusive to Kerala and are limited to 100 units each. The launch coincides with the festival of Onam and the opening of six new touchpoints in the state.

Exclusive Features of Taigun and Virtus Onam Editions

The Taigun Onam Edition is derived from the GT Line variant, while the Virtus Onam Edition is based on the Highline variant. Both models feature an all-black exterior and interior, including black chrome accents on elements like the grille. Additional features include front parking sensors, a dual-tone horn, puddle lamps, and a TSI badge on the front fender.

Onam Editions

The Taigun Onam Edition retains all features from its GT Line counterpart. This includes black 17-inch 'Cassino' alloy wheels, an 8-inch digital driver display, a 10-inch infotainment touchscreen, a powered sunroof, ventilated front seats, and automatic climate control. The Virtus Onam Edition shares nearly all these features but does not include a sunroof.

Engine Specifications

Both the Taigun and Virtus Onam Editions are powered by a 115hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. Buyers can choose between a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox for both models. Despite their special edition status, these models are priced similarly to their respective base variants.

Volkswagen's decision to limit these editions to Kerala underscores its strategy to cater specifically to regional festivities and market demands. The all-black theme extends even to typically chrome parts, giving these vehicles a distinctive look that sets them apart from standard models.

The introduction of these special editions also marks Volkswagen's expansion in Kerala with six new touchpoints. This move aims to strengthen its presence in the state and offer more accessibility to customers.

In addition to celebrating Onam, Volkswagen is offering significant discounts on other models like the Taigun this August. Prospective buyers can also consider used options like the Volkswagen Virtus but should be mindful of specific aspects before making a purchase.

These new additions reflect Volkswagen's commitment to blending cultural celebrations with automotive innovation while expanding its market reach in India.
