VW Taigun GT Line & GT Plus Sport Variants Unveiled
German carmaker Volkswagen has unveiled two new variants of the Taigun SUV - GT Line and GT Plus Sport - at its Annual Brand Conference 2024. Bookings for the Volkswagen Taigun GT Sport Plus are now open
The two new variants of Volkswagen's compact SUV for India, the Taigun, bring with them quite a few cosmetic changes. Mechanically, the GT Line makes use of the smaller 1.0-turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine while the GT Plus Sport uses the more powerful 1.5-litre turbo petrol powerplant.

The exteriors of the VW Taigun GT Plus Sport also feature a host of black-coloured trim pieces including the grille, roof rails, B-Pillar, C-Pillar garnish, ORVMS, Taigun badging and 17-inch alloy wheels in a Cassano Black finish.
The SUV also sports darkened LED headlamps, a Carbon Steel finished roof, dark chrome door handles, GT badges in red on the grille, fenders and boot lid along with a diffuser element also finished in the darker look.

Inside the Taigun GT Sport Plus features a black headliner, dual-tone leatherette upholstery with Cherry Red contrast stitching, GT badges on the backs of the front seats, sports steering wheel and aluminium pedals.
Powering the new VW Taigun GT Plus Sport is the firm's tried and tested 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that pushes out 148bhp and 250Nm of peak torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The GT Line variant follows most of the design cues seen on the GT Plus Sport variant with its Black-themed aesthetics. These include the rood rails, the matt black B and C-Pillars, 17-inch Cassano Black wheels, black themed LED headlamps, blacked-out Taigun, TSI and GT Line badges.
The interiors of the Taigun GT Line also feature a blacked-out theme with the black roof liner complimenting the dark coloured lower interior and the black leatherette seat covers. Also seen is Crystal Grey contrast stitching on the steering wheel, front armrest and seat covers along with red ambient lighting.

The Volkswagen Taigun GT Line is powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine putting out 114bhp and 178Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual or torque converter automatic transmission.
