Volkswagen Jetta And GLI 2025: Refined Style Meets Better Value

Volkswagen of America Inc. has announced that the 2025 Jetta and Jetta GLI will feature enhanced styling and improved value. The Jetta, a best-seller in North America since 1980, continues to combine style, quality, safety, and value. The updated models boast new exterior designs, interior upgrades, and a lower starting price of $21,995 for the base model with an automatic transmission.

The exterior of the 2025 Jetta includes modernized front and rear treatments, new wheel options, and additional color choices. The front fascia now features redesigned upper and lower grilles, new LED headlights, and an optional light bar starting from the Sport models. At the rear, a new trunk lid with a standard light bar connecting the taillights adds elegance.

Inside, the Jetta showcases a revamped dashboard design with new materials and colors throughout. A three-bar design across the upper dash integrates with the air vents and directs attention to the new floating 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Climatronic® Touch automatic climate control is now standard across all models.

The SE trim offers comfort features previously found in SEL models such as SiriusXM® satellite radio, voice control, wireless charging, and wireless App-Connect. Rhombus cloth seats in Titan Black or Storm Grey are standard on Jetta S models. Sport models feature embossed molekular cloth seats in Titan Black.

The 2025 Jetta retains its 1.5-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine producing 158 horsepower. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission for sporty performance and excellent highway fuel economy. The sport-tuned Jetta GLI is powered by a 2.0-liter EA888 engine delivering 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.

The GLI model can be equipped with either a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox. Known as the "GTI with a trunk," it features larger brakes, VAQ electronically-controlled torque-sensing limited-slip differential, XDS® electronic differential lock, DCC® adaptive damping system, and a unique sport exhaust system.

Advanced Safety Features

All 2025 Jetta and Jetta GLI models come standard with the IQ.DRIVE system. This system uses front and rear radar, a front camera, and several ultrasound sensors to gather data from surrounding areas. It enables features like Travel Assist (semi-automated driving assistance), Front Assist (Forward Collision Warning), Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Monitoring, Active Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Stop-and-Go, Lane Assist (Lane Keeping System), and Emergency Assist (semi-automated vehicle assistance in medical emergencies).

The refreshed Jetta lineup is expected to arrive at U.S. dealerships by the end of Q3 2024.
