Volkswagen India Sets New Safety Standard With 6 Airbags In All Models
Volkswagen India has taken a significant step towards enhancing vehicle safety by introducing 6 airbags across all variants of the Taigun and Virtus models as a standard option.
This move further solidifies the position of Volkswagen's India 2.0 cars as among the safest in the country, following their 5-Star Global NCAP safety ratings. The company has proudly reached over 100,000 sales of these models, marking a milestone in their commitment to offering safe and premium mobility solutions to Indian families.
The Taigun and Virtus have both been recognized for their outstanding safety features, providing a 5-star rated safe mobility experience for adult and child occupants alike. The Taigun, in particular, has been a major contributor to Volkswagen's sales, accounting for over 61% of the total.
The Virtus has also gained popularity as a premium mid-size sedan, with approximately 40% of customers opting for the high-performance GT variants. This preference underscores the importance of performance alongside safety in the eyes of the consumer.
Mr. Ashish Gupta, Brand Director of Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, expressed his pride in the achievement, stating, "Today, we take great pride in announcing our portfolio of India 2.0 cars offering 6 airbags as standard across the line-up." Recent additions include the Taigun GT Line based on the 1.0l TSI and the GT Plus Sport based on the 1.5l TSI EVO engine. These variants further enrich Volkswagen's product range, catering to a wide array of customer preferences.
Volkswagen's network strength in India is notable, with 208 sales and pre-owned car touchpoints, alongside 142 service touchpoints spanning 155 cities.
