Volkswagen Unveils New ID.7 GTX Electric Models In The UK With Advanced Features
The new Volkswagen ID.7 GTX and ID.7 GTX Tourer models are now available for order through Volkswagen UK retailers, starting from £61,980 and £62,670 respectively. These models feature dual-motor technology, enhancing performance and dynamic styling. The addition of a front motor boosts power to 340 PS, making these the most powerful electric vehicles from Volkswagen.
The ID.7 GTX can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.4 seconds, while the ID.7 GTX Tourer achieves the same in 5.5 seconds. Despite their impressive speed, these models offer substantial range capabilities with a WLTP all-electric range of 366 miles for the ID.7 GTX and 359 miles for the ID.7 GTX Tourer. Fast charging is also a highlight, with the ability to charge up to 200 kW DC, allowing a top-up from 10% to 80% battery capacity in just 26 minutes.
Both models come equipped with an 86 kWh (net) battery, similar to the ID.7 Pro S Match derivatives but with added power due to the front motor. This upgrade also introduces 4MOTION all-wheel drive to the ID.7 and ID.7 Tourer for the first time.
The new models boast high levels of luxury and equipment, including ventilated and heated massage seats in the front, heated rear seats, a Harman Kardon sound system, and Volkswagen’s DCC adaptive chassis control system with driving profile selection. Standard features also encompass IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights with illuminated Volkswagen logos at both ends, unique GTX daytime running lights, an augmented-reality head-up display, GTX-specific interior styling, and Volkswagen’s IDA voice assistant integrated with ChatGPT.
Park Assist Pro is among several attractive options available for both models, allowing drivers to control parking procedures via smartphone.

Globally, Volkswagen operates in 29 locations across 12 countries and employs around 170,000 people. In 2023 alone, they delivered approximately 4.87 million vehicles worldwide.
Sustainable Mobility Ambitions
Volkswagen's ACCELERATE strategy aims to position it as a leading brand in sustainable mobility. In line with this goal, about 394,000 all-electric vehicles were delivered globally in 2023.
This includes popular models like the Polo, T-Roc, T-Cross, Golf, Tiguan and Passat alongside successful all-electric ID models.
"The addition of a front motor results in a power increase of 54 PS," said a spokesperson from Volkswagen UK.
The ID.7 GTX Tourer offers ample luggage space of up to 605 litres when rear seats are positioned for cargo while still accommodating five passengers comfortably.
