Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Achieves Double Win At The 2025 Towcar Of The Year Awards
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles celebrated a successful outing at the 2025 Towcar of the Year Awards. The Amarok was named the best 'Pick-up', while the Volkswagen Multivan secured the 'Large Family Towcar' title for the third consecutive year. These awards, now in their 42nd year, are judged by an independent panel of experts who evaluate thirty-three vehicles to determine the best in each category.
The Multivan's spacious and adaptable interior, along with its comfortable driving experience, earned it high praise. Its car-like manoeuvrability simplifies towing and reversing tasks. The Caravan and Motorhome Club remarked: "This is the third year running that the Multivan has walked off with a Large Family Towcar category win, and it’s easy to see why. It’s a great vehicle, being easy to drive and park, well-mannered on different road types and simply enormous inside. The interior can be configured in various ways, boosting flexibility too. The 148bhp 2.0-litre diesel is a good engine. If you need space, the Multivan can’t be beaten."
In addition to the Multivan's success, the Amarok triumphed in the 'Pick-up' category. Judges were impressed by its versatility as both a functional work vehicle during weekdays and a comfortable towcar on weekends. With towing capabilities of up to 3.5 tonnes, it meets both work and leisure needs effectively.
The Caravan and Motorhome Club commented on its award: "Its upmarket looks are matched to an equally upmarket interior, which shows pick-ups don’t have to be unrefined and agricultural. It has good on-road manners, is hugely capable off-road, and tows with serious competency. The 3.0-litre V6 diesel is punchy, and the ride is decent when hitched."
