Could VinFast's Entry In India Be Around The Corner? Test Mule Spotted
VinFast's entry into the Indian electric vehicle market could shake up the competition with its promising offerings. The VF e34, with its Creta-sized design, is set to compete with popular models like the Hyundai Creta EV and Tata Curvv EV, showcasing VinFast's commitment to providing diverse options for consumers.
With the upcoming launch of the VF 5 as well, VinFast seems poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle segment in India, offering customers more choices and potentially driving further innovation in the market.

Launch and Features
The VF e34 is scheduled for a fiscal year 2025 launch as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). The car shares its design with the international version. Its tail-lamps share a resemblance with the Maruti Ertiga but with an additional lighting element extending to the center of the tailgate.
The sides feature plastic body cladding and chrome window garnish. The wing mirrors are equipped with a 360-degree camera and blind spot warning, part of the ADAS suite. The car will also have split LED headlamps and an enclosed grille.

Interior and Specs
Though the interior isn't visible in the spy shots, the VF e34 will include a 10-inch touchscreen and a fully digital driver's display. These features aim to enhance the driver's comfort and accessibility.
The VF e34 comes with a 41.9kWh battery pack, powering a 150hp, 242Nm electric motor. It offers an NEDC-certified range of 318.6km. With a fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10-70 percent in 27 minutes.
DriveSpark Thinks
VinFast plans to localise the SUV in India eventually, but the battery will likely be imported from Indonesia initially. The company also plans to launch the VF 5, which will compete with the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
The construction of VinFast's India plant began in February this year. This facility will produce vehicles for both the domestic and export markets. VinFast's entry into the Indian market marks a significant development in the country's EV landscape, promising more choices for consumers.
