Urban Automotive Debuts Bespoke 2018 Range Rover Sport Widetrack Edition
Urban Automotive has launched a special edition of the Range Rover Sport, paying tribute to its iconic 2018 Urban-modified model. This new 'Widetrack' version is a modern take on the L494 SVR, crafted as a one-off build of the latest L461 Range Rover Sport. The homage vehicle features extensive visual carbon fibre and bespoke design elements.
The original 2018 Range Rover Sport L494 SVR, known for its Estoril Blue paint and Ebony/Cirrus interior, was a landmark project for Urban Automotive. It gained attention with gold Urban Vossen UV-1 wheels during its promotional debut. This helped establish Urban's reputation in Range Rover customisation. The new Widetrack edition continues this legacy with a custom Estoril Blue paint job and Cirrus quilted interior.
The Widetrack styling programme incorporates wide arches, a distinctive carbon fibre bonnet, and an upper 'matrix' grille with Urban icon branding. The bold front design is matched by an assertive rear, featuring an upper rear spoiler, carbon fibre bumper, and rear diffuser with removable skid pan. Milled billet aluminium exhaust finishers with the Urban logo complete the look.
In contrast, the Narrowbody styling programme offers a more understated appearance. It includes full replacement carbon fibre bumpers at both ends and carbon fibre side skirts. The front features a visual carbon fibre splitter and integrated daytime running lights (DRL), while the rear has a visual carbon fibre upper spoiler and diffuser.
Both styling programmes offer 23" or 24" alloy wheel packages and an optional Milltek Sport performance exhaust. Designed and manufactured in the UK, these packages follow Urban's 'OEM+' philosophy, enhancing the vehicle's original design while adding individuality.
The tribute vehicle is based on Urban’s ultimate Widetrack styling programme which is one of their most striking designs to date incorporating wide arches, a distinctive carbon fibre bonnet and front upper ‘matrix’ grille in visual carbon fibre with Urban icon branding. The bold front design is balanced with an equally assertive rear, which includes an upper rear spoiler, a carbon fibre bumper, rear diffuser with removable skid pan in visual carbon fibre and milled billet aluminium exhaust finishers with engraved Urban logo.
Designed and Manufactured in the UK
All products are designed by Urban's in-house team led by founder Simon Dearn. Each product undergoes rigorous research to ensure seamless integration with factory safety systems. The Range Rover Sport package follows this meticulous process to maintain quality standards.
The Range Rover Sport styling programme is available to order now through the Urban Automotive website. Prices start from £25,000 for conversions. This latest signature build was unveiled at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Revisiting an Icon
To honour the original 2018 build further, this special edition features satin gold UV-1R wheels made in collaboration with Vossen in Miami. These wheels are a modern twist on the iconic UV-1 wheels from 2018, blending past designs with contemporary elements.
The new programme includes two unique configurations: Widetrack and Narrowbody. Both packages feature extensive visual carbon fibre elements and premium wheels. They remodel the Range Rover Sport to deliver an aggressive yet refined appearance.
Urban Automotive was established in 2014 as an independent vehicle modifier aiming to provide 'OEM Plus' design services. Based in Milton Keynes, it specialises in carbon fibre styling kits for luxury vehicles.
This new signature series expands on Urban's exclusive offerings by reimagining one of its most iconic builds—the 2018 ‘V2’ Range Rover Sport—with modern enhancements that pay homage to its legacy while pushing forward into new territory.
