UP.FIT Launches Nation's First Tesla Cybertruck For Law Enforcement In Irvine
The Irvine Police Department has introduced the first Tesla Cybertruck designed for law enforcement, thanks to a partnership with UP.FIT, a division of Unplugged Performance. This vehicle is part of Irvine's DARE program, highlighting the city's focus on innovation and community involvement. The Cybertruck is equipped with features that enhance police work, making it a significant addition to their fleet.
The UP.FIT Cybertruck is tailored for first responders, featuring advanced technology to support police duties. It includes a roof-mounted Whelen lighting system and integrated rocker panel lighting for emergencies. A remote-operated spotlight aids night patrols. The vehicle's electrical system supports essential equipment like Mobile Data Computers and police radios without hindering space, allowing for easy access to mounted rifles under the rear seats.
From the factory, the Tesla Cybertruck offers ballistic-grade stainless steel for officer safety, bio-weapon defense mode, HEPA filtration, and 4-wheel steering. These features improve maneuverability compared to traditional police vehicles. This makes it an ideal choice for law enforcement agencies seeking advanced solutions.
Irvine is known for its high electric vehicle adoption rate and hosts one of the busiest Tesla delivery centers globally. The introduction of the Cybertruck aligns with Irvine's dedication to sustainability and public safety. With a strong Tesla user base in the community, it was natural for Irvine PD to be the first in the nation to use this vehicle in law enforcement.
