Upcoming Cars & Motorcycles Launching In July 2024: Luxury & Innovation

July is shaping up to be an exciting month for automobile enthusiasts in India, with several new cars and bikes expected to launch. Among the upcoming releases are luxury vehicles from Mercedes Benz and BMW, as well as a world CNG-powered motorcycle from Indian two-wheeler giant Bajaj Auto.

Mercedes-Benz EQA

Mercedes-Benz is set to introduce EQA electric SUV on July 8, 2024. This will be the fourth EV from the brand in India, following the EQS, EQE SUV, and EQB. The EQA will compete with rivals such as the Volvo XC40 Recharge, C40 Recharge, and BMW iX1.

It is expected to launch with two battery pack options: a 66.5 kWh battery offering a range of 528 km on a single charge and a larger 70.5 kWh battery with a range of up to 560 km. The electric SUV will also feature styling updates and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system running the latest MBUX user interface.

BMW 5 Series LWB

BMW has opened bookings for its new-generation 5 Series Long Wheelbase (LWB) in India, with a launch scheduled for July 24, 2024. India will be the first global market to receive a Right-Hand Drive BMW 5 Series LWB. The vehicle measures larger than its rival Mercedes E-Class LWB and features both petrol and diesel engines, likely equipped with new 48-volt mild-hybrid technology.

BMW CE04

On the same day, BMW Motorrad plans to launch its first electric scooter in India, the CE 04. With a top speed of 120 kmph and acceleration from 0-50 kmph in just 2.6 seconds, it offers a range of up to 129 km on a single charge.

MINI Cooper S and Countryman

BMW-owned MINI is also set to launch two new cars on July 24, 2024: the new-generation Cooper S and Countryman E models. The three-door Cooper S will be faster than its predecessor, featuring a redesigned grille, round LED headlamps with customizable LED DRLs, and updated Union Jack-themed taillights.

The MINI Countryman Electric promises a range of up to 462 km on a single charge and comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS, MINI Connected tech, Digital Key Plus, an in-car fisheye camera, and an electrically adjustable driver's seat with massage function.

Bajaj's World-First CNG Motorcycle

Bajaj Auto is gearing up to launch the world's first CNG-powered motorcycle on July 5. Although its official name has not been confirmed yet, it is expected to be based on a Bajaj motorcycle in the 100-150 cc segment. The bike will feature dual fuel tanks for CNG and petrol and is claimed by Bajaj to reduce running costs by up to 50%.

With these launches just around the corner, car and bike enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to in July. Furthermore, the launch of new models is also likely to attract more buyers and boost overall sales figures for all automakers in India.
