BYD Unleashes U7 Electric Sedan To Rival Luxury Electric Giants

The U7 is also expected to be a substantial presence on the road, with an anticipated length of up to 5,200mm and a width of 2,000mm, and it can accommodate imposing 21-inch wheels, lending it a commanding stance.
Powertrain and Performance
The U7 is a powerhouse, generating an astonishing output of over 1,000hp courtesy of four electric motors. While the specifics of the powertrain are still under wraps, speculation is rife about whether it will adopt a range-extending configuration like the U8, or go for an all-electric setup similar to the U9.
The U8's hybrid powertrain is an impressive combination of a 2.0-litre petrol engine and electric motors, all powered by a 49.1kWh LFP battery, delivering a total of 1,195hp. The U9, on the other hand, opts for electric motors paired with a 100kWh LFP battery for a combined output of 1,114hp.
