Lake Windermere Crowned UK's Most Beautiful Spot In Latest Survey
England's largest lake, Lake Windermere, has been voted the UK's most stunning view, according to new research from Isuzu. The Isuzu D-Max pick-up driver’s seat offers an ideal vantage point to enjoy this view. The 10.5-mile lake, surrounded by mountain peaks and villages, attracts over 18 million tourists annually.
St Ives Bay in Cornwall ranks second on the list of 30 best beauty spots. Stretching six miles to the Godrevy lighthouse, it inspired Virginia Woolf’s novel "To The Lighthouse." St Michael’s Mount, also in Cornwall, appears third. This rocky island features a mediaeval church and castle dating back to the 12th century.

Other notable locations include Cheddar Gorge in Somerset, Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park in Scotland, and York Minster. The Brecon Beacons in Wales and The Giant’s Causeway in Northern Ireland also make the list. Durdle Door in Dorset and Stonehenge in Wiltshire are among the top views appreciated by Britons.
The survey reveals that 94% of the 2,000 Brits surveyed plan a UK-based adventure this year. Over half believe the UK is underrated for its beauty, with 49% feeling proud of its natural landscapes. Additionally, 51% say that sunny weather makes the UK feel almost like being abroad.
Popular activities include enjoying ice-cream on the beach (50%), a cosy Sunday roast (50%), drinking a cool beer in a pub garden (44%), and having a picnic in the park (41%). Despite this enthusiasm, 77% worry their car wouldn’t survive a UK staycation, especially off-road adventures.
