Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder Continues To Churn Sales Figures: Sees Positive YoY Sales Growth
Toyota sold 18,700 cars in India in April 2024. The Glanza was the best-selling model, followed by the Innova HyCross. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder ranked third, with sales of 3,252 units. This represents a 24.31% year-on-year increase compared to April 2023.
However, sales declined by 45% compared to March 2024, when 5,965 units were sold. The decline is attributed to year-end discounts offered by Toyota.

The Urban Cruiser Hyryder was developed in collaboration with Maruti Suzuki. It is available in petrol, CNG, and petrol-hybrid options. Currently, a 5-seater version is available, with a 7-seater version expected soon.
The vehicle is expected to compete with the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, and Maruti Grand Vitara. The upcoming 7-seater version will compete with MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, Citroen C3 Aircross, and Hyundai Alcazar.
Petrol variants start at Rs 11.14 lakhs, CNG starts at Rs 13.71 lakhs, and petrol-hybrid starts at Rs 16.66 lakhs (ex-showroom). Mileage figures are impressive: 26.6 km/kg for CNG, 19.39-21.12 km/l for petrol, and 27.97 km/l for hybrid.
